Our Story

Apidae Consulting began with a question:

Why do capable leaders and strong teams start to feel stretched as organizations grow, even when commitment and talent remain high?

As organizations evolve, work becomes more complex. Decisions involve more voices, roles expand, and informal ways of working that once felt natural begin to strain. Apidae’s work developed in response; moving from individual leadership support to helping organizations design leadership and team practices that bring clarity, coordination, and consistency.

Founded by Dr. Elizabeth Fleming and grown through strategic partnership with Dr. Robin McLeod as the work expanded, Apidae evolved into a collaborative consulting practice. Along the way, our partners became increasingly invested in designing systems that recognize and leverage different ways of thinking. Neurodivergence emerged as an important lens; not as the sole focus, but as part of a broader commitment to building environments where diverse strengths can contribute fully.

Today, Apidae focuses on designing leadership, team, and organizational systems that work for real people and real complexity — by design, not by chance.
